In the update of Pokémon Go to version 0.35.0 (Android) and 1.5.0 (iOS) the Appraise feature became available to Trainers. This implementation of Pokémon Appraisal allows Trainers to learn more about the Attack, Defense and Stamina stats of their individual Pokémon.
Every Pokémon species has a set amount of Attack, Defense and Stamina. However, Individual Value stat bonuses set Pokémon of the same species apart from one another. For example, every Gengar will have set stats of:
With Individual Values, a Gengar may have anywhere from 0 - 15 extra stat points for each stat for a max total of 45 extra stat points. A Gengar with perfect stats would have the following:
Significance of Stats
Increased Attack = Pokémon will deal more Damage
Increased Defense = Pokémon will take Reduced Damage from enemy Moves
Increased Stamina = Pokémon will have More HP
How to Appraise Pokémon
The Appraise feature can be accessed by going to the Main Menu, selecting Pokémon and then selecting an individual Pokémon. Once you have selected the Pokémon, select the menu in the bottom right of your screen. You will see Favorite, Appraise and Transfer. Selecting Appraise will prompt your Team Leader to analyze your Pokémon.
Depending on the Trainer's assigned Team, the specific Team Leader will present the analysis of the specific Pokémon that was selected. Blanche (Team Mystic) or Spark (Team Instinct) or Candela (Team Valor).

ReplyDeleteThanks. Updated!
ReplyDelete>Team Spark Appraisal Analysis
ReplyDeleteI lol'd.
The yellow one isn't "Team Spark". It's "Team Instinct". Please update.
ReplyDeleteTeam "Instinct"
ReplyDeleteNot Team Spark
As much as I like Spark though, please rename Team Spark to Team Instinct so it will match with the other teams.
ReplyDeleteUm, hi. You wrote Team Spark instead of Team Instinct lol
ReplyDeleteI'm not offended, but Team Spark is really Team Instinct.
ReplyDeleteHey, do you think this feature is working well ?
ReplyDeleteI have a Flareon powered up to its max possible for my level. When I launch the appraise option I receive the phrase "Overall, your Flareon looks like it can really battle with the best of them!"
So, great! But then, at the end, I get the phrase "Its stats are really strong! Impressive."
How can that be possible ?
I also have a Jolteon (also powered to its max) that have the same thing in reverse: the overall is "your jolteon is really strong" but the stats are "the best I have ever seen".
Something is not quite right, isn't it ?
Haha sorry everyone. Team Instinct has been updated accordingly!
ReplyDeletecheck for messahges when more than one of the stats are 15
ReplyDeleteEevee anon, I think you should think again. There's nothing strange in what you described.
ReplyDeleteSo, what does the size have to do with anything? If a pokemon is XS or XL the stats page tells me that by the weight or height stat without an appraisal. Does size relate to performance or other stats in any way? Why bother commenting if not? Does an XS pokemon have advantages over another... as a defender, attacker, during evolution or pouring up? Seems kinda pointless to mention it without it meaning something to the trainer. Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI also got curious about what size has to do with performance.. But I have a feeling that it might be for the speed of dodging and the some extra power on the auto attacks..
ReplyDeleteThe overall analysis has a range too:
ReplyDeleteOverall, your [Pokemon Name] looks like it can really battle with the best of them! (37 - 45 Bonus Points)
Its stats are really strong! Impressive. Stat bonus of 13 - 14
So, in this case, the stat that it mentions is your highest stat and it is either 13-14. The other stats could be equal or lower (i think they tell you if it's equal).
So, for example, your Flareon could be attk = 13, def = 12, stam = 12, total 37.

Love the game, thank you
ReplyDeleteCan we get the HP sub category linked to the HP's instead of CP.
When a programmer copied the code they forgot to change the link to HP instead of CP...common mistake.
Can you post percentages in the range of stats?! to see the IV´s people are more familiar with 0-100% pls
ReplyDeleteI have an Eevee that appraisal told me its Attack was its best , then said its Defense was as well. They were also the "best ever seen" (team instinct) so I imagine when that happens both are at 15...(as someone above mentioned whether you are told if they're equal)
ReplyDeleteOf course, this Eevee's CP is lower than other Eevee that I have...so, would I be better leveling this one's CP? Even if it's 200 CP behind a few others?
Looks like my Snorlax has some great stats. It told me it battles with the best, brought up hp, attack and defense... And said its stats were impressive. May not be perfect, but that tells me it's something better than most.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like Puddin (that's what I call him) is a fighter. Thanks for deciphering this for me. Till now I was not sure what to make of it.
