In Pokémon Go, Stardust can be collected by capturing wild Pokémon and hatching Eggs. Unlike Candy, which is used to Power Up and Evolve a Pokémon specific to its evolution line, Stardust can be used to Power Up any captured Pokémon.
For example, if you have collected Stardust by capturing a Pikachu, you can use this Stardust to Power Up a captured Sandslash.
Powering Up a Pokémon with Stardust will increase its CP (Combat Points) and HP (Health Points), which will make that Pokémon stronger in Battle.

#2. Touch Pokémon.
#3. Select a Pokémon to view from your list of Pokémon.
#4. The amount of Stardust needed to Power Up a Pokémon will be displayed in the Pokémon Information screen. In the picture above, Ekans requires 100 Stardust plus 1 Ekans Candy to Power up its CP and HP. The specific Evolution from Ekans to Arbok would require 0 Stardust and 17 Candy.
