| Pokedex Entry #130: Gyarados is a Water/Flying Type Pokemon. It evolves from Magikarp. | | |
| | | | | | |
| When Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, its brain cells undergo a structural transformation. It is said that this transformation is to blame for this Pokémon's wildly violent nature. | |

Mine also has dragon pulse
ReplyDeleteI have the worst gyrados. Though it has CP 1600, its moves are Dragonbreath96) and twister(15). I feel betrayed after spending 400 candies to evolve that magikarp.
ReplyDeleteJust evolved this baby a few hours ago: 1687 CP with Bite and Hydro Pump. That two weeks of farming Magikarp were so worth it!
ReplyDeleteWhat level was your magikarp to get 1600+ CP?
ReplyDeleteGot my Gyarados on my first day playing pokemon go, while laying in my hotel bed... Didn't even know it was a rare catch 😂 Has bite/hydro pump.
ReplyDeleteSame here! 😂😂😂
ReplyDelete2 days of farming. 152CP magickarp turned to 1750CP gyarados with dragon breath and dragon pulse.
ReplyDeletei have dragon breath / hydro pump , lucky
ReplyDeleteAnyone else bothered that the only way gyarados can get a STAB bonus is with hydro pump, since he isn't actually a dragon type?
ReplyDelete400 candies for Magicarp to evolve? Well time to rent a boat and take a day off from work. XD
ReplyDeleteFirst one I got had dragon breath which is good, but Twister which sucks so badly. 2nd one has Byte and Dragon Claw, much much better!
ReplyDeleteDo the size and weigth have any influence on the attack moves it gets when evolving from Magikarp or is just mere luck?
ReplyDeleteI got dragonbreath + dragonpulse, not sure whether its good though. Any thoughts pleasd ?
ReplyDeleteFollowing the above!
ReplyDeleteI found one at a lure that is hydro pump90 and bite6 and I have 150 candy. Should I keep going to evolve or power up the one I have??
ReplyDeleteOne popped up at the Green in downtown Dover, DE.
ReplyDeleteI have 3 90%+ IV Gyarados all with the same crappy moveset. Bite and Twister! I basically farmed 1,200 magikarp candies for nothing.
ReplyDeleteFarmed 3 gyarados for 3 weeks. First two had twister+bite. Legit the worse you can have, just forget about it and keep grinding. My third one finally had the hydro pump. so glad, it destroys gyms
ReplyDeletesize and stuff dont matter. the moveset is completely random, all about luck
I'm the guy who posted as Anonymous with the 90%+ IV Gyarados... my 4th Gyarados is also a damn Bite+Twister combination... all 4 of my Gyarados have the same damn worst move set. Is Niantic out to fuck me over or something? What gives?
ReplyDeleteI'm the guy who posted as Anonymous about farming 3 Gyarados with the worst moveset: bite+twister... My 4th Gyarados is the same as the last 3! What the hell?!
ReplyDeleteI've mailed Ninatic to request that they offer a TM system of sorts, where a player can activate a TM module and change the move set for say 3 Pokemon.
ReplyDeleteSo if you have a decent IV Gyarados, but the dreaded twister you could change that to Hydro Pump or Dragon Pulse.
EVERY Pokemon game as the option to learn moves, so I don't see why they can't offer it to players with decent Pokemon, let down by having the worst move from the 3 available.
My Gyarados has Bite and Dragon Pulse
IVs: 15/15/15
I'm happy with it as it's a decent counter for the waves of Dragonite that are around now.
My beloved Gyarados
ReplyDeleteready to kill Dragonite

I evolved my magikarp and got Dragon Breath and Dragon Pulse... Time to update the website for charge up skills? :)
ReplyDeleteAnd to whomever was wondering, I have a 97% gyarados so no, 93%+ doesn't always give Twister lol. Just bad luck I guess.
My Gyarados has Dragon Breath (damage 6) as its quick attack
ReplyDeleteFinally evolved mine today after waiting an additional 2 weeks to make sure I wouldn't get a higher cp or better IV to start... Near perfect with all 3 95+... Bite and twister... TWISTER!!! Ugh! So disappointed...
ReplyDelete126 more candies and I can evolve another...
Made sure my first Magikarp to evolve was high IV, was able to capture a 100%! When it evolved, it had Dragon Breath and Hydro Pump, so now I have a perfect Gyarados in all fields!
ReplyDeleteOne happy water Pokémon trainer!
All of my gyrados had their fast attack changed to bite. Niantic removed dragon breath from the game for gyrados
ReplyDeleteNiantic did not remove dragon breath from my 2 Gyarados. Guess You have bad luck. Gyar 1: dragon breath ; dragon pulse. Gyar 2: bite ; twister. Gyar 3: Bite ; Twister. Gyar 4: Dragon Breath ; Hydro Pump. All IV 80%+
ReplyDeletemy friend manage to capture one at the beach with cp 200++ lol
ReplyDeleteIt is not true that Dragon Breath has been removed, my Gyarados still has it!
ReplyDeleteHowever DB/Dragon Pulse has DPS 15,04 vs DB/Hydro Pump DPS 18,11, Dragon Pulse is better only against Dragonite
Hope they implement a way to change the secondary move. This random move setup is whack. M almost perfect gyarados has bite/twister.. 30/30 - 14/15..FML
ReplyDeleteGot a 100% Gyarados with bite and hydro pump. She's perfect. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI evolved my 154cp magikarp and I get 1605cp 124hp Gyrados with bite 6 and hydro pump 90...gotchaaa...
