Can also have Bulldoze as a charge move
ReplyDeleteWhich is the strongest move for it to know? And what are indicators of which move it'll learn if it's evolved from growlith?
ReplyDeleteIf it has bite (a dark move) and bulldoze (a ground move), does it count more as a fire Pokemon or a ground Pokemon?
ReplyDeleteUmm Flamethrower?
ReplyDeleteArcanine is very good. The only problem is how common, and good, Vaporeons are. He loses due to typing.
ReplyDeletearcanine isnt good at all. his dps is a mear 12. sure he has high base attack, but when in actual combat he does very little damage for his CP. however, he IS one of the best fire in the game, which doesnt matter if his charge moves sucks and his fast fire move does such low dps
ReplyDeleteMy arcanine's fire blast does 100 dmg
ReplyDeleteHave evolved 5 of these in a row, every one of them knew bulldoze. Only one of them even knew firefang. Any idea if after the update it is even possible to get one that dosnt know bulldoze? Any statistics?
ReplyDeleteMy first arcanine I evolved from growlithe had fire fang and fire blast. The growlithe was from an egg. Growlithe also had the ideal moveset. And arcanine is one of the best attackers I've seen.
ReplyDeleteI notice that some of u find Arcanine not that strong. I think thats because the ideal moveset is NOT with Fire fang as quick attack but Bite is the better of the two. Why? Energy per second is not accounted for here!!!
ReplyDeleteFire fang does have a larger dps. However bite produces much more energy per sec, which is needed for the strongest charge attack.
To compare: It takes about 7 secs for Bite to produce a Fire blast. Fire fang takes 20!!! seconds.
Would be nice if this can be weighed in the move rankings....
How important is having the best moveset compared to having a high IV?
ReplyDeleteI have the best arcanine move set YES!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a 602cp growlithe with 14/14/0 IVs, is this good enough? Or will the 0 extra stamina really hurt? I'm level 23 btw. Would it be worth evolving this one? Or should I wait for a stronger growlithe? And yes I know movesets are more important, but still I don't wanna waste 50 hardearned growlithe candies.
ReplyDeleteIf you really want a good arcanine I think you should wait for a better growlithe. I got one with cp634 and 13/15/14 IVs when I was lvl 21 and even though it's pretty good I want to get a better one from an egg. With 0 stamina arcanine will be no match for the vaporeons
ReplyDeleteIf using correct typing (attacking Bug/Grass/Ice/Steel), Fire Fang is actually better than Bite.
ReplyDeleteDPS without typing:
Bite + Fire Blast 18.0
Fire Fang + Fire Blast 17.1
DPS with typing:
Bite + Fire Blast 20.6
Fire Fang + Fire Blast 21.4
Bite is a better fast move than fire fang. yes bite has slightly lower DPS but it also has very good energy build up, while firefang has one of the worst EPS. so for slightly lower dps, bite allows you to use your charge moves way more often. although you do also lose the type advantage against grass, but then youre better when defending against water pokemon.
ReplyDeleteI got a Growlithe with near perfect IVs from an egg, so I evolved it to Arcanine and got the worst moveset, no STAB.. Bite + Bulldoze. It wouldnt be so bad if bulldoze didnt absolutely stink.
